Sunset Mesa Games is a trade name of Sunset Mesa Ventures LLC. This page explains what our website and our games collect. The short version: anonymous gameplay numbers that help us balance our games, and nothing else.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests (including your IP address) to deliver and protect the site. It loads fonts from Google Fonts. Game pages may embed Steam's store widget, which is served by Valve and subject to Valve's privacy policy.

Our games

Our released builds, including the free browser prototypes on itch.io, send a small amount of anonymous gameplay data to our own server so we can see whether a game works: how long sessions last, whether players finish a run, and whether they come back on another day.

• A random install ID. The game creates it the first time it runs and keeps it in its own save data (browser storage for web builds). It isn't tied to your name, email, account, or device.
• Session and run events: when a session starts and ends, a heartbeat once a minute while you play, and the result of each run (for example the score and how long it took).
• Technical basics: the game and its version, and the platform (web, Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Your country, as reported by Cloudflare. We don't store IP addresses.

We use this data only to balance and improve our games and to decide which prototypes to develop further. We don't sell or share it, don't use it for advertising, and don't combine it with other data. There are no third-party trackers or ad SDKs in our games.

Opting out: each game has a telemetry setting that turns this off. Clearing the game's save data (or your browser storage for web builds) resets the install ID.

Steam and itch.io

If you get our games through Steam or itch.io, those stores handle purchases, accounts, and their own analytics under their own privacy policies. We receive only the aggregated reports they give all developers.
